What makes you different from other organizations offering character appearances?
All of our performers have extensive theatrical experience and each performer has been recognized for their performance talent. While other organizations offer character visits, we offer a theatrical interactive experience which will entertain and promote imagination! All of our princess performers are required to have singing, dancing, and performance talent. We do our best to hold ourselves to a higher standard to insure that each appearance you receive is professional, genuine and unique!
Which towns are you able to make appearances?
We are able to attend most locations in the greater Chicagoland area. In Indiana this includes: Crown Point, Cedar Lake, Dyer, Griffith, Hammond, Hobart, Lowell, Merrillville, Munster, Schererville, and St. John. In Illinois this includes: locations within a 30 miles radius from Chicago (such as Schaumburg, Wheaton, Orland Park, etc.). We will visit other areas of Indiana and Illinois for an additional travel fee based on current gas prices so please contact us for a price quote.
What type of locations are you able to make appearances?
We are able to make appearances in locations such as homes, hospitals, libraries, banquet halls, churches, and parks. Please be sure to contact your event facility to confirm if our performers are allowed to attend.
What do you need to attend outdoor parties?
For an outdoor party the weather cannot be inclement, such as rain or extreme temperatures. This is for the safety of our performers and for the preservation of our costumes. If you have an outdoor party scheduled and inclement weather occurs your event deposit can be used to secure a different date or time, schedule permitting, or if you are able to move the event to a nearby indoor location. Please call your event co-ordinator as soon as possible if you need to move your event to a different location.
What do you need to attend indoor parties?
For an indoor party there should be enough room for our performers to move around comfortably and be able to interact with guests.
If you would like our Friends to play party games or crafts then more space would be appreciated.
What do I need to provide for the appearance?
This depends upon which package and activity you decide to schedule. Generally, a table and chairs should be available for all craft and makeover activities. In some circumstances, a CD player or power outlet should be provided if the character friends are singing or dancing. If dancing and party games are part of your character appearance, enough room for our performers and guests to comfortably move around (without potential damages or injuries) is requested. Parking for our performers must be available.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
If you need to cancel you must allow at least 14 days notice for your event deposit to be returned to you. If you need to reschedule you must give us at least 14 days notice and your deposit can be used toward your rescheduled event, schedule permitting. Any rescheduled event must be rescheduled for the same calendar year. If you decide to cancel an event with less than 14 days notice, we will retain your deposit. We will do our best to accommodate a rescheduled event. Outstanding circumstances are taken into consideration, but are not a guarantee of availability.
What if I want to change my original contract?
If you wish to change any aspect of your event agreement form/contract, such as date, time, location, pricing package, etc there will a $10 processing fee to submit a new contract and apply the changes to your event request. Please understand that a change in your original contract affects not only your event, but our ability to full prepare and adjust for any changes you may request.
What if the performer cancels?
Very rarely will a performer EVER need to cancel their appearance and will only do so if there is an emergency (such as: illness, car accident, etc.). Please understand that there are forces outside of our control which may lead to a cancellation such as extreme weather conditions, unforeseen transportation conflicts, etc. Depending upon the notice we have prior to a performer needing to cancel, you can choose to reschedule your event at no cost, or you will be given a full refund.
Can I mix and match from different pricing packages?
Under most circumstances, yes, you can mix and match activities or items from different pricing packages. The price of the package will then be adjusted to reflect the changes. This will be discussed and finalized with you prior to submitting your event deposit.
What if I want a character which is not on the list?
If you would like to make a special character request please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. It is not unusual for us to receive requests for characters to be themed to specific events or for an additional character from our themes. We will only offer you what we believe to be a truly high standard character appearance and nothing less. If we feel we have the talent and abilities to accomplish your request we will do so! We also love to stay up to date on the most current popular characters!
Do you offer Mascot or Fur Style characters? Will you offer them in the future?
No, we do not offer mascot characters and we will not be adding them to our company. Most people looking for a mascot character are in need of a very specific look, which can only be fully (and legally) achieved by contacting the copyright license holder. We hold that our characters must have the ability to speak and interact with guests to fully achieve our mission statement. Therefore, we only utilize costumes and characters which allow our performer's face to be visible.
Can I make special requests?
We always love to hear your ideas to make your event as unique and special as possible.
**It is not the intention of Looking Glass Friends Entertainment to violate any copyright laws. Our character friends are not name brand copyrighted characters. Our characters are generic with inspiration gathered from many tellings of the most popular storybook characters. We can only accept bookings from individuals who are aware that we do not represent any licensed character. Any resemblance to nationally known copyrighted characters is incidental. If you are requiring a licensed, copyrighted character for your event you should contact the company / copyright holders. Thank you.**
